Dangerous Kitchen Music did music and/or sounddesign for 1x Gold Lion (Direct), 2x Silver Lion (Promo & Film) and 1x Shortlist (Film Craft) for YDA "Drama Queen" for TBWA\PHS Helsinki and L-A-D-A / Caviar Amsterdam-director Rogier Hesp. Achtung! won a Bronze Lion and 1x Shortlist in the Cyber-category for the Volkswagen "Pak de Polo"-campaign. The Hotel Arena DTMF-radiocommercial by THEY, Studio De Keuken and Dangerous Kitchen Music was on the Radio-Shortlist twice. Congrats to all involved! We're rather proud and happy too...

THEY invented the world's first application of DTMF-vertising ever in a radiospot for Hotel Arena and Amsterdam Village Company. THEY make everything so easy, the radiocommercial even dials the phone for you! Dangerous Kitchen Music did the Music & Sounddesign.

The new SIRE public awareness-campaign "Aardige Mensen" ("Friendly People") made by Publicis Amsterdam is chosen by the Dutch TV-audience

Centraal Beheer-UFO and Volkswagen-Polo were selected for the Film Shortlist in Cannes. Both for DDB Amsterdam, both carrying original music and sounddesign by Dangerous Kitchen Music. Publicis Amsterdam's Slachtofferhulp (Dutch Victim Support Fund) was on the Radio Shortlist.

ETCETERA Amsterdam scored a hattrick in IM's Commercial Review 2008. Gold, Silver and Bronze for 3 Bol.com-films! Geert van Gaalen (Music/Sounddesign) and Remko Keuter (Sounddesign) worked on the Gold-winner, Bol.com-Battle/Singstar. Congrats to Stan, Guido and the rest @ ETCETERA!

"MTV-Rocket Bros" (John Doe/ CTV) was nominated 4 times.
And...we actually won Gold for "Best Use of an Original Composition in a Promo",
once for World Gold and once for North-America. Which is the most highly acclaimed award
for music in TV-promo's worldwide. The promo also won Gold and Silver in 2 other categories.

Barely recovered from winning a Lamp, the same soundtrack (J&B Spain - Rabbit Man) is on the shortlist in the category Technique/Original Music at the New York Festivals 2008 too!
ADCN Lamps 2008
We did it! We won the only Lamp in the category Geluid (Music & Sound Design). For the J&B Spain "Rabbitman"-soundtrack for Kessels Kramer. 8 Nominations in the category, 2 for us and the jury had a hard time choosing between these two, as the jury told us afterwards...nice... The music was composed by Geert van Gaalen and Geert did the sounddesign together with director Olivier Babinet (Dr. Film).
The only (Silver) Radio Lamp this year is for Publicis for the Renault Recycle spot, on which our own Robin Schlosser meticulously crafted a new radio-commercial from snippets of many older (recycled) radiospots.
Amazing job! Congrats to Publicis and we're proud of this Lamp (and Robin!) too.

Geert van Gaalen has been invited as a Jury-member for both the Art & Technique Jury in New York and the Technique Jury in Miami's Clio Awards 2008. Quite an honour!

After a Silver Clio, now also a Gold World Medal for a collection of 4 films for MTV (Just Like Daddy, Brassband, Rain & Togo). Again in the category 'Original Music/Lyrics'. John Doe also received a Bronze World Medal in the category 'Media Promo' for the MTV UK-spot. For Pubicis Amsterdam's beautiful spot for Kika we only did editing and mix with Coldplay's music, yet still we're a bit proud on that Finalist too.
SILVER Clio 2007!!!!
Yes!!!! We actually won the prestigious Silver Clio 2007 in the category 'Original Music/Lyrics'!
No Gold was awarded in the category. We couldn't resist picking it up personally in Miami, where we found out how big an award the Clio really is worldwide... Nice...defending the Dutch honour on such an international stage!

One Gold award for MTV UK 'Brassband' and Bronze for MTV Canada 'Rain' on the '2007 BDA World Gold',
and Gold and Bronze for MTV UK on the '2007 ProMax World Gold'. Apparently the world's most prestigious award for Television Promotion!
Clio & ProMax/BDA Europe 2007
The soundtrack Geert van Gaalen composed for MTV UK's 'Brassband' film is nominated for a Clio in the States and at the ProMax/bda in Berlin, both in the category 'Best Original Music Composition'. Kinda cool!
SILVER & BRONZE Epica 2006
Congratulations to Publicis Amsterdam (Ministry of Internal Affairs-'Vote') and Etcetera (NFSG Disability Sports Foundation-'Metro') for winning a Silver and a Bronze Epica respectively. Both spots carry an original Studio De Keuken-composition.

At the recent Midsummer Awards 2006, John Doe received a Bronze Award for 'Just Like Daddy' and director Steve Ayson a Bronze AWARD 2006 (Australasian Writers and Art Directors Asociation) for direction. Congratulations, guys!

John Doe's 'Just Like Daddy'-film for MTV and KRO's '10 Promises'-campaign are nominated by the Dutch Art Directors Club in the category Best Music & Sounddesign. No 'Lamp' this year in the category, but 2 out of 8 nominations is not a bad score, we think...
Launch MTV Canada
After getting international acclaim for the MTV Shorts-series (the "Günther"-film was shortlisted for the Cannes Lions, the D&AD Pencils and the ADCN), John Doe's Hein Mevissen was invited to create and direct the launchcampaign for MTV Canada. That's right, up until March 21, 2006, the Canadians were deprived of MTV! After this 'drought' this campaign comes as a soothing rain! Geert wrote a sweet lovesong from MTV to the new viewers and Geert, Robin and Jeroen did the Sounddesign. The 90" spot (please, check it out in the 'work'-section) was the very first image shown on MTV Canada! Quite an honour!
For the record...
Some stuff screams to go beyond the usual 30" boundaries and these tunes might even be worth listening to in their own right.
We decided to release 11 tracks, a whole album, almost 40 minutes of songs and instrumental tracks!
Entitled " > 30" ", it turned out to become such a bizarre mix of styles and genres, we knew for sure no traditional Record Company would burn it's hands on this one. That's why from now on "Dangerous Kitchen Music" is a (Virtual) Record Company!

KRO's "10 Promises"
Dangerous Kitchen Music got a great kickstart in 2005!
Dutch national broadcaster KRO and production company CCCP.com asked us to compose the music and design the audible part for their new image-campaign. The KRO actualizes the "10 Commandments" for the 21st century as "10 Promises" to create room for discussion about values and spirituality in today's society, meanwhile communicating their religious heritage.
CCCP-director Joeri Holsheimer invented a stunning visual style, which asked for an equally beautiful soundtrack to try and capture the essence of spirituality and a level of integrity and sincerity the concept and the films deserve.
